Offshoring is when a company contracts to produce their product overseas for sales in their home country. The opposite of that is Reshoring. Reshoring brings the production of goods back home. In the past, businesses could save money by Offshoring, but the worldwide situation is changing.
The global supply chain is not as reliable as it once was, and consumers are questioning the origin of their goods. With goods produced domestically, organizations have greater control over their supply chain and processes.
