Over the decades, Prologis has proven its commitment to sustainable building practices, innovation and cutting-edge technology. The company, the world’s largest builder and operator of logistics real estate, has announced its goal of being green certified for all new developments and redevelopments globally.
“We are honored to be a part of this prestigious initiative that puts nature, people and planet at the center of global value creation,” said Ben Banaten, President, Prologis Europe. “We share this with our own vision of lasting excellence in real estate, building lasting relationships and a better environment for our clients, our employees, and the communities we are a part of.”
“We are delighted to join the work of HRH The Prince of Wales and the Sustainable Markets Initiative to help shape a more sustainable future for all,” said Prologis Co-Founder and CEO, Hamid R. Moghadam. “This is something we have practiced for a long time at Prologis. It simply does our part in creating a better and cleaner world for this generation and for future generations.”
HRH The Prince of Wales said: “The Terra Carta Seal honors those organizations that have made a serious commitment to a more sustainable future, putting nature, people and the planet at the center of the economy. We all need to make changes if we want to save the planet for our children and grandchildren, and these companies have pledged to make it easier for all of us to do just that.”
Pioneering green building
As part of Prologis’ efforts to reduce carbon emissions and achieve its science-based goals, the company has committed to achieving 100% carbon-neutral building globally by 2025 and is partnering with its customers to decarbonize their operations. In addition, the company is on track to reach its goal of providing 400MW of solar energy in its buildings by 2025. The company is also a leading green bond issuance to finance investments in sustainable buildings and renewable energy projects around the world.
