Today’s Petrol and Diesel Prices in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad: Gasoline and diesel prices rose by oil marketing companies for the sixth consecutive day on Monday. Petrol in the national capital today costs 109.69 rupees per liter, 35 pounds more than yesterday. Meanwhile, diesel in the capital was sold at 98.42 rupees per liter, an increase of 35 baisa. The cost of petrol in Mumbai remains the highest across metro cities, at 115.50 rupees per liter. The cost of diesel in the country’s financial capital is Rs 106.62 per liter. The difference in prices between Delhi and Mumbai is due to the different local VAT charges in different cities. Gasoline and diesel prices are determined based on freight charges, local taxes and value-added tax. Gasoline has crossed the Rs 100 liter mark in Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Ladakh and some cities of Bihar and Punjab.

Crude oil price
While gasoline and diesel prices were rising rapidly, crude oil prices fell on Monday morning as China released its oil reserves. According to Reuters, Brent crude futures were trading at $83.52 a barrel. US West Texas Intermediate futures were at $83.20 a barrel.
