McCormick, co-chair of Blackstone’s hedge fund unit, leaves company sources By Reuters

BOSTON (Reuters) – John McCormick (NYSE), who has led the hedge fund unit of Blackstone Group (NYSE:NYSE:NYSE:NYSE) since 2018, plans to leave the company, two sources said on Monday.

As the world’s largest hedge fund investor, Blackstone supports new hedge funds, invests in tandem with hedge funds, buys majority stakes in them and offers internally managed hedge funds to clients such as pension funds and foreign governments.

A Blackstone representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
